Malcolm Singleton has bought M(alcolm) & J(ane) Hardware in Ham Parade in 1988 from Dorlings, who owned the shop since 1953, when the adjacent Parkleys Estate was built. He has worked in the shop for 44 years: “That’s all I ever did. Before that I went to Greycourt School down the road, like Jo (Jo Prior next to him), he is also a local lad.”
