At the opening of the Museum of Richmond’s exhibition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of  World War I: the Mayor of Richmond, Cllr. Jane Boulton, welcomes HSH Princess Marie-Therese von Hohenberg and her husband, Mr Anthony Bailey, residents of the Borough of Richmond. Princess Marie-Therese is the great granddaughter of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria-Este, whose assassination in 1914 prompted the start of WWI.

It takes courage to open an 80 seat theatre, eight miles away from London’s West End,                  and expect it to succeed. Sam Walters founded the Orange Tree Theatre on December 31, 1971.  This year it celebrated it’s 40th anniversary.
